C. Spencer Yeh
C. Spencer Yeh (b. 1975, Taipei, Taiwan) studied Radio/Television/Film at Northwestern University and lives and works in Brooklyn New York. He is recognized for his interdisciplinary activities and collaborations as an artist, composer, and improviser, as well as his music project Burning Star Core. Recent presentations of work include Who Wants Flowers When You're Dead at the Poor Farm, Wisconsin, The String and the Mirror at Lisa Cooley, NYC, Soundworks at the ICA London, Excursus IV at the ICA Philadelphia, PAN_ACT at ISSUE Project Room, Brooklyn NY, a Jerome Foundation Commission from Roulette Intermedium, the Segue Reading Series in NYC, the Canal Series NYC, and LAMPO at the Graham Foundation, Chicago. Recent recorded works include Ambient (with Robert Piotrowicz), 1975, and Transitions, under the CS Yeh moniker. A collaborative recording with Okkyung Lee and Lasse Marhaug is due later this year on Daniel Lopatin's Software label, and a collection of voice-based works will be published by Primary Information in 2014. Yeh also volunteers as a trailer editor and programmer for Spectacle Theater in Brooklyn NY.
