Anna Lundh Artist Class: Q&Q - 2022 (Full report)
- Friday, November 22, 3:00 pm
Anna Lundh will present Q&Q – 2022, a research project and experiment she initiated in New York in March 2012, which during one year has collected and shared questions from the public about what the future will be like – 10 years from now.
Q&Q – 2022 is a reconsideration of the 1971 project Telex: Q&A, created for an exhibition at Moderna Museet in Stockholm by New York-based Experiments in Art and Technology (E.A.T.), in which the public was invited to send questions about 1981 – also 10 years into the future – between New York, Stockholm, Tokyo, and Ahmedabad through telex machines. What kinds of questions did we ask about the future then, and are they different from the ones we ask now? In exhibitions and workshops in both New York and Stockholm (Exit Art, Rhizome, Bonniers Konsthall), the public has been able to contribute new questions as well as speculate answers. The online component, which was developed for the New Museum’s First Look: New Art Online series, has accumulated questions from people worldwide and was concluded in March 2013. Lundh’s performative presentation for Performa Institute is an exclusive full report of this one year research project, and it concludes with a Q&Q (“Question & Question” session) together with one of the initiators of the original 1971 E.A.T. project, Julie Martin.
