Pedro Gómez-Egaña looks at television as an entry point to the way time is understood in our culture through a TV-style lecture in which he explores ideas based on Mary Ann Doane’s text “Information, Crisis, Catastrophe”, and will draw links between the TV model and today’s digital landscape. He also explores how these notions influence readings and processes in an art that is simultaneously mechanical and ghostly like Man Ray’s Perpetual Motif or his own Kinetoscope of Time.
