threeASFOUR Fest

The Jewish Museum, 1109 5th Ave MAP
Free with RSVP

Avant-garde fashion and communal food rituals come together in Fest, an interactive performance to unite people across cultures. Audience members are invited to participate in ritual hand washing before breaking bread from edible couture dresses worn by three female performers. Baked in the shapes of the Platonic solids, the bread can be dipped in spices representing the five classical elements: fire, earth, air, ether, and water. This symbolically rich ceremony is designed in collaboration with Breads Bakery, Naama Shefi, Studio Christian Wassmann, Bradley Rothenberg, and Oliver Halsman Rosenberg and conceived in relation to threeASFOUR: MER KA BA, a multimedia installation on view at The Jewish Museum through February 2, 2014.

Fest is presented by the Jewish Museum & Art Production Fund.
